International Relations

International Relations (IR) is the study and practice of how countries interact with one another, focusing on the relationships between nations, as well as the roles of international organizations, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and multinational corporations. It encompasses a wide range of topics, including diplomacy, conflict resolution, international law, trade, human rights, and global governance. The field examines the political, economic, social, and cultural dimensions of these interactions, seeking to understand the underlying principles, power dynamics, and effects of international actions and policies on world affairs. IR also involves the analysis of global issues such as security, environmental challenges, development, and the impact of globalization, aiming to promote cooperation and address transnational problems that affect multiple countries. Scholars and practitioners in international relations work to develop theories and frameworks that explain the behavior of states and other actors in the international system, shaping foreign policy and diplomatic strategies.
